Desktop notes
Notes don't take up space on the taskbar or in Alt+Tab, and they stay on the desktop even when you close the list window.
Open a note like a sticky note and jot things down — it saves the moment you stop typing. Notes are saved on this PC first, and once you sign in you see the same notes on your other PCs and on the web.
Open a note, write, pin it, close it.
There's no Save button and no OK button.
Notes don't take up space on the taskbar or in Alt+Tab, and they stay on the desktop even when you close the list window.
A note is saved 3 seconds after you stop typing or as soon as you click elsewhere. There's no Save button.
Each note's position, size and pin — and which notes were open — come back exactly as they were the next time you start Nemo.
Give each note a color. The list uses the same color for each row, so you can tell notes apart at a glance.
A pinned note stays visible even when you open other windows.
Use the magnifier in the list window to search titles and text. Press Esc to get the full list back.
Whatever program you're in, Ctrl+Shift+N opens a new note right away. You can change the keys.
Add emoji to titles and text to make notes easier to spot.
Signing in is optional.
Even without signing in, or when the internet is down, your notes are saved on this PC as usual.
Notes are always saved on this PC first. When the internet comes back, they go up to the server at the next sync.
You never type your password into Nemo. Click Sign in under Settings → Server and sign in to your Kilho.net account in the browser you normally use.
Once you're signed in, Nemo syncs with the server right after you save a note and every 10 minutes. To sync right away, click Sync now.
Open Web Memo with the same account to read and edit the same notes when you're away from your PC.

Nothing gets overwritten. One version stays as the original note, and the other is kept as a new note with (conflict copy) at the end of its title. Compare them, merge them into one, then delete the one you don't need.
Signing out keeps the notes on this PC, and leaves the notes on the server and your other PCs untouched.
One list window plus your notes on the desktop — that's all.
Settings take effect immediately; there's no OK button.
Note contents and times are examples.
Even in the middle of another program, press Ctrl+Shift+N and a new note pops up in front. Type a title, press Enter, write the text and just leave it — it saves on its own.
Click the note's pin to turn on Always on top, so other windows can't cover it. Click again to turn it off. The pin state also comes back the next time you start Nemo.
Left-click the Nemo icon in the notification area (system tray) to bring all open notes to the front. If you need the list window, right-click the icon and choose List.
Pick a color for each kind — yellow for to-dos, blue for work, and so on. Right-click a note's title bar or a note in the list and choose from Color; the note and its row in the list change color right away.
Click the magnifier at the top of the list window and type what you're looking for. Only notes with those words in the title or text remain. Press Esc to get the full list back.
Click the note's title, then click it again a moment later; or double-click it; or right-click the title bar and choose Edit. Enter confirms and Esc restores the original title.
Click ✕ on the list window to send it to the tray; your notes stay on the desktop. To close Nemo completely, choose Quit from the tray menu. Open notes reappear in the same place the next time you start it.
Turn on Run at startup under General in Settings (the installer turns it on from the start). When Windows starts, Nemo opens quietly without the list window, and only the notes you left open appear on the desktop.
On both PCs, click Sign in under Server in Settings. Sign in to your Kilho.net account in the browser, and when the Signed in page appears, close it and go back to Nemo. From then on, your notes sync on their own.
When you sign in, the notes on this PC go up to that account and the notes on the server come down to this PC, so the two are merged into one. If this PC was used with a different account before, Nemo asks first whether to merge; choose No and it won't sign in.
Click the Shortcut (new note) box under General in Settings; it changes to Press a key. Press the combination you want (for example Ctrl+Alt+M) and it takes effect right away. If another program already uses those keys, Nemo tells you.
Extract the portable version to the USB drive and run it from there. Notes are saved in the same folder as the program, so the same notes open on every PC you plug the drive into.

Nemo never updates itself. When a new version is available it tells you at startup; click [Yes] to open the download page and close the program.
No. Without signing in, notes are saved only on this PC and every feature works. Sign in only if you want the same notes on several PCs or on the web.
First on this PC. Once you sign in, they're also saved on the server, so you see the same notes in Nemo on your other PCs and in Web Memo. The portable version keeps notes in the same folder as the program.
No. You sign in to your Kilho.net account in the browser you normally use. Nemo never receives your password.
Neither version is thrown away. One stays as the original note, and the other is kept as a new note with (conflict copy) at the end of its title.
No. Uninstalling leaves your notes in place, and when you install again your notes are right there.
Nemo follows the Windows display language. Pick one yourself under Language in General in Settings and it changes on the spot.
It checks for a new version at startup and, once you're signed in, syncs your notes with the server. It never updates itself; clicking Yes in the new version notice opens the download page.
Only one copy of Nemo runs. Starting it again while it's running brings the list window out of the tray. When Windows shuts down, Nemo saves the note you're writing and closes along with it.
